CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF August 3, 2004 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CIN COUNCIL <br />FROM: TERESA DELGADO, HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: FOURTH AMENDMENT TO CITY MANAGER EMPLOYMENT <br />AGREEMENT <br />DATE: JULY 229 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Item #12 <br />The City Council and City Manager Daryl Parrish originally entered into an employment <br />agreement in June 2001 for management services to be provided by Mr. Parrish as City Manager <br />for City of Colton. In July 2002, the City Council and Mr. Parrish agreed to amend the <br />employment agreement as a result of discussions which took place during a workshop attended <br />by City Council and City staff. In July 2003, the City Council and Mr. Parrish agreed to amend the <br />employment agreement regarding the term of the agreement and certain benefits for professional <br />development. In July 2004, the City Council evaluated Mr. Parrish's work performance and <br />agreed to amend his employment agreement to extend the term of the agreement. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The proposed fourth amendment to the City Manager's employment agreement will extend the <br />term of the agreement for an additional two (2) years. The agreement's existing term expires on <br />June 5, 2006. The proposed amendment to the agreement will extend the term until June 5, <br />2008. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />No financial impact is anticipated. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />No environmental impact is anticipated. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements <br />Not applicable. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />1. Deny approval of the Fourth Amendment to the Employment Agreement between the City <br />of Colton and the City Manager. <br />2. Recommend revisions to the Fourth Amendment. <br />
