Barrera, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: CERTIFICATION OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND <br />SPECIAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 2, 2004, IN THE CITY <br />OF COLTON <br />DATE: November 30, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the July 6, 2004 Council Meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R-78-04, <br />Calling and Giving Notice of the General Municipal Election to held in the City of Colton, <br />for the Election of certain officers of the City. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The City Council by adoption of Resolution No. R-78-04 authorized the county election <br />department of the County of San Bernardino to canvass the returns of the General <br />Municipal Election. The canvas was completed on November 29, 2004. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The Estimated cost from the Registrar of Voters is no less than $17,000. The Election <br />Expense Account No. 100-6010-6010-2401 has $20,000 budgeted. The Invoice for the <br />balance owing is expected after the first of the year. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends adoption of the attached Resolution, reciting the facts and declaring <br />the results of the November 2, 2004, General Municipal Election. <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />EEWM ONLY <br />: Now Finance Director: <br />: OTHER: <br />1 <br />
