CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF December 7, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Bill Smith, Director of Community Services/ <br />PREPARED BY: Mary Alice Romo, Administrative Assistant <br />SUBJECT: Approve and Accept Instruction Materials Grant for <br />City Early Childhood Education <br />DATE: November 17, 2004 <br />Item #11 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />For the past seventeen years Early Childhood Education has provided latchkey services for <br />school-age children (5-12 years of age). Periodically, the State makes one-time basis funds <br />available in the form of grants for Instruction Materials to existing facilities. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />For fiscal year 2004/05 the Instruction Materials Grant will provide funds for either durable or <br />consumable developmentally appropriate and curriculum -related instructional materials. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no general fund impact. The funds should be placed into revenue account 206-5880, <br />and expenditure account 206-7200-7202-2304 should be increased by the corresponding <br />amount of $2,214. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council accept and approve the FY 2004 — 05 State Instruction <br />Materials Grant and Resolution. <br />Attachment <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: <br />City Manager: C <br />Finance Director: <br />OTHER: <br />
