CITY OF COLTON Item #16 <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 7, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Kenneth Rulon, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: Thirty (30) Day Extension of Current Towing Contracts <br />DATE: November 29, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: <br />The contracts allowing the current towing providers to provide services for the City expired in <br />August 2004. In accordance the City's Municipal Code and the Police Department's Rules and <br />Regulations for Towing Providers. The police department has established a bidding procedure <br />that will result in the selection of the most qualified towing providers. The bidding process has <br />been delayed but it is expected that it will be completed by the end of December.
