Item #11
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 3, 2004
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: ACCEPT AND APPROVE GRANT DEEDS FOR STREET
DEDICATION PURPOSES FROM LOT 7 OF MERRYFIELDS
SUBDIVISION ON LARK STREET, TRACT 16222
DATE: January 27, 2004
BACKGROUND:
The development of the Tract No. 16322 included the extension of Lark Street. The proposed
extension necessitated installation of new curb return on the northwest corner of the intersection of
Lomita Lane and Lark Street. The installation of a larger curb radius would provide improved
turning movement. The property owner at the northwest corner of the intersection Lark Street and
Lomita Lane, Salathiel A. Ramirez and Celia Ramirez have agreed to dedicate the necessary right-
of-way, at no cost to the City of Colton. A copy of the deed, signed by Salathiel A. Ramirez and
Celia Ramirez is attached as Exhibit "A".
ANALYSIS/ DISCUSSION:
The existing right-of-way at that intersection is not sufficient to allow proper turning movement.
The owners of the property have agreed to dedicate additional lands for public use in order to
accommodate the installation of the required street improvements. The construction of the street is
being done as part of the development of Tract 16322 and is being paid for by the developer.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not have an environmental impact.
