Hugh Margesson, Early Childhood Education Director g64 <br />SUBJECT: Approve and Accept Instruction Materials Grant for <br />City Early Childhood Education <br />DATE: January 6, 2004 <br />Item #7 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />For the past seventeen years Early Childhood Education has provided latchkey services for <br />school-age children (5-12 years of age). Periodically, the State makes one-time basis funds <br />available in the form of grants for Instruction Materials to existing facilities. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The fiscal year 2003/04 the Instruction Materials Grant will provide funds for either durable or <br />consumable developmentally appropriate and curriculum -related instructional materials. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no general fund impact. <br />and increase the appropriation <br />amount of $2,160 <br />The funds should be placed into revenue account # 206-5765, <br />in expenditure account #206-7200-7202-2304 by the grant <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council accept and approve the FY 2003 — 04 State Instruction <br />Materials Grant and Resolution. <br />Attirhmant <br />Kesomion <br />/REVIEW TEAM LY - to <br />City Attorney: <br />City Manager: <br />Finance Director: <br />OTHER: <br />
