ZAMORA <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST TO APPOINT TWO COUNCILMEMBERS TO AD <br />HOC COMMITTEE TO REVIEW CDBG PROJECT REQUESTS <br />FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005 <br />DATE: January 7, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Each year, the City of Colton receives an allocation of Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) funds through the County of San Bernardino for use on worthwhile <br />community projects. In order to assist Community Development staff in reviewing and <br />recommending projects for funding to the entire City Council, staff would like to establish <br />an ad hoc committee made up of 2 planning commissioners and 2 councilmembers. The <br />ad hoc committee will be charged with reviewing, evaluating and recommending <br />worthwhile projects to receive funding for fiscal year 2004-2005. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. Compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act is achieved on a project - <br />by -project basis. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — (Gift Disclosure Requirements) <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council appoint two of its members to serve on an <br />ad hoc committee to review and evaluate CDBG project applications and make <br />recommendations to the entire City Council <br />Prepared by: Marco A.
