Barrera, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal Election to be Held, <br />Tuesday, November 2, 2004 and Requesting the County of San Bernardino to <br />Render Specified Services <br />DATE: June 29, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Terms of Office for certain elected City Officials are nearing conclusion. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Under applicable State law, the City of Colton must take steps to call for the election of certain officers <br />of the City and to order a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, <br />which will be consolidated with the Presidential General Election, to elect the following City Officers: <br />1. City Clerk and City Treasurer, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />2. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full -terms of four years, for Districts 3, 5 and 6. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Cost of the General Municipal Election is estimated at $20,000. This amount has been funded in the <br />City Clerk's Budget for Fiscal Year 20004-05. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends City Council approval of the attached resolution calling the election and requesting <br />that the County of San Bernardino render specified services. <br />Att: (1) <br />
