Item #14
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF July 6, 2004
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., CITY ENGINEER (a
SUBJECT: ACCEPT AND APPROVE GRANT DEEDS FOR STREET
DEDICATION PURPOSES FROM LOT 499 50 AND 51 OF TRACT
22709 ON FERNANDO STREET, IN THE CITY OF COLTON.
DATE: June 24, 2004
BACKGROUND:
The development of 949, 955 & 963 Fernando Street included the construction of street
improvements. The proposed street improvements necessitated installation of new curb, gutter and
sidewalk return along Fernando Street. The installation of the curb, cutter and sidewalk would
provide a wider street section. The property owner at 949, 955 & 963 Fernando Street, Hector
Vizcarra has agreed to dedicate the necessary right-of-way, at no cost to the City of Colton. A copy
of the deed, signed by Hector Vizcarra is attached as Exhibit "A".
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
The existing right-of-way at that intersection is not sufficient to allow the street improvement. The
owners of the property have agreed to dedicate additional lands for public use in order to
accommodate the installation of the required street improvements. The construction of the street is
being done as part of the development of 949, 955 & 963 Fernando Street and is being paid for by
the developer.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not have an environmental impact.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST:
None
