CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF June 15, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Bill Smith, Recreation Services Manager, <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval of Street Closure of Agua Caliente Lane for Resident <br />Block Party on Sunday, July 4, 2004 — 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. <br />DATE: June 7, 2004 <br />Item #7 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Residents of Agua Caliente Lane have, for several years, celebrated the Fourth of July by having a block party <br />for residents. This year, John Anderson, on behalf of the street residents, has submitted a special event <br />application requesting the closure of Agua Caliente Lane on July 4, 2004, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., to <br />accommodate the party. A copy of this application is attached. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The City Special Events Committee has met with the applicant as prescribed by City Ordinance, and the <br />committee has recommended approval of this request. The Special Events Committee consists of a representative <br />from the Police, Fire, Public Services, Community Development, and Community Services Departments. <br />The applicant will coordinate the pick-up and return of street closure barricades from the Public Services <br />Department, and the applicant will provide for the supervision of these barricades for the duration of their event. <br />Additionally, the applicant will ensure the prompt and thorough clean-up of the street immediately following the <br />event. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There will be no direct financial impact to the City. <br />ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Agua Caliente Block Party <br />Contact: John Anderson, 1073 Agua Caliente, Colton, (909) 873-5310 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the closure of Agua Caliente Lane for the Agua Caliente Block Party, to be held <br />on Sunday, July 4, 2004, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. <br />IEW TEAM ONLY <br />Attorney: Finance Director: <br />Manager.
