Item #12 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF May 4, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Community Services Director ii <br />SUBJECT: Use of Fleming Park for St John's Lutheran Childcare Center Graduation <br />Ceremony on Friday, June 11, 2004,9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. <br />DATE: April 20, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />St. John's Lutheran Childcare Center has submitted a request to use Fleming Park and its <br />bandshell for its graduation ceremony on Friday, June 11, 2004. The event is scheduled to <br />proceed from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully <br />hosted such ceremonies previously. Expected attendance is estimated at approximately 200 <br />people, including adults, teens and children. A facility reservation application, as well as a <br />supplemental letter explaining the event in more detail, have been submitted by the group, and a <br />copy of each has been attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />St. John's Lutheran Childcare Center <br />Contact: Peggy Johnson, Director - (909) 825-6434 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from St. John's Lutheran <br />Childcare Center, for a graduation ceremony, to be held at Fleming Park on Friday, June 11, 2004. <br />Staff also recommends that this approval be contingent upon the group providing liability insurance <br />and a cleaning deposit to protect the City. <br />Attachments <br />TEAM ONLY <br />CityAttonney: n .-- <br />City Manager: <br />Finance Director. <br />OTHER: <br />
