Item #13 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF May 4, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Community Services Director 2 <br />SUBJECT: Use of Fleming Park for Echoes of Love Ministry Prayer Event on Saturday, <br />June 26, 2004,1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />DATE: April 19, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Resident Yvonne Flores has submitted a request, on behalf of the Echoes of Love Ministry, to use <br />Fleming Park and its bandshell for a prayer event on Saturday, June 26, 2004. The event is <br />scheduled to proceed from 1:00 p.m, until 9:00 p.m. <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: <br />Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully <br />hosted such events previously. Expected attendance is estimated at approximately 100.people, <br />including adults, teens and children. A facility reservation application, as well as a supplemental <br />letter explaining the event in detail, have been submitted by the individual, and a copy of each has <br />been attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST; <br />Echoes of Love Ministry <br />Pastor: Conrad D. Valdez <br />Contact: Yvonne Flores, (909) 825-6510 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from the Echoes of Love <br />Ministry, for a prayer event, to be held at Fleming Park on Saturday, June 26, 2004.
