Item #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF Mav 18, 2004 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Community Services Director <br />SUBJECT: Use of Fleming Park for Unity of Love Ministries, Evening Service, on <br />Sunday, June 13, and Saturday, June 26, 2004, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br />DATE: May 4, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Unity of Love Ministries, Inc. has submitted a request to use Fleming Park and its bandshell <br />for an evening service on Sunday, June 13, 2004, and also on Saturday, June 26, 2004. The <br />events are scheduled to proceed from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully <br />hosted such services previously. Expected attendance is estimated at approximately 90 people, <br />including adults, teens and children. A facility reservation application and a supplemental letter of <br />explanation have been submitted by the group, and a copy has been attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Unity of Love Ministries <br />Contact: Jon Battles, (909) 882-2712 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from Unity of Love Ministries, <br />for evening services, to be held at Fleming Park on Sunday, June 13, and Saturday, June 26, <br />2004.
