ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvement is exempt under CEQA Section 15311 — Construction, or <br />placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or <br />institutional facilities. <br />FINANCIAL/FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The Fire Training Tower Project has original funding of $236,485.00 on account number 100-6090- <br />6091-3890. To cover the cost differences, additional funding of $15,000 will be provided from <br />District 6 CIP (see attached resolution), and the Fire Department agreed to provide additional <br />$20,000 from California Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CAL-JAC) Grant. The total funding <br />available for the project is $271,485.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully recommends that Council: <br />• Authorize the award of construction contract for Fire Training Facility at Fire Station No. 1 <br />Project to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Horizons CCI Services, Inc., of <br />Anaheim, California, in the amount of $262,475. <br />• Approve the resolution appropriating additional funds from unexpended District 6 CIP <br />Budget in the amount of $15,000 for construction of Fire Training Facility at Fire Station No. <br />1 Project. <br />Report prepared by Victor Ortiz - Engineering Assistant <br />REVIEW TE L <br />4, <br />City Attorney: Finance Director: <br />Ci Manager: OTHER: < <br />
