Item #9 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 5, 2004 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., CITY ENGINEER r <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST TO ACCEPT OFFER OF EASEMENT FOR THE <br />COLTON ELECTRIC LINES AT 1701 COOLEY DRIVE FOR <br />MAINTENANCE IMPROVEMENT PURPOSES TO SERVE THE <br />COOLEY RANCH AREA. <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 27, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The E.D.A. Project No. 07-01-05132: Construction of Infrastructure Improvements to Serve the <br />Cooley Ranch Area consists, of new storm drain pipelines, a 10" water distribution main, electric <br />conduits and street lighting, as well as the rehabilitation of existing street sections. New electric <br />conduits were constructed in the Cooley Ranch area, including, but not limited to the area on the <br />Stater Brothers parking lot at 1701 Cooley Drive, adjacent to the new Ashley Furniture <br />development on Cooley Drive. In the course of the Engineering Design, it became clear that <br />easements for improvements and maintenance for electric lines would be necessary. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The necessary easements were prepared by W. J. McKeever, Inc., the Civil Engineering firm that <br />engineered and designed the EDA Project. The proposed Easement Plats have been reviewed and <br />approved by the Public Services Department and are attached to this report as Exhibit "A". <br />These easements are for maintenance purposes only and are not in fee. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />An Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was prepared as part of the EDA Project. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST <br />Exact Business Name: East Valley Land Company LLC <br />President or Equal: Aaron Hodgdon <br />Contact Representative: Aaron Hodgdon <br />FINANCIAL/FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />
