Item #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 5, 2004 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Amer Jakher, P.E., City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Approve Amendment To The Original Contract With GK and <br />Associates Pertaining To The Pavement Management CIP Project, In <br />The Amount of $7,695. <br />DATE: September 27, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />GK and Associates was awarded the original Agreement pertaining to the Pavement Management <br />Capital Improvement Project (CIP) on the 15th of April 2004. The original Agreement provided for <br />development of a Citywide Pavement Management and Inventory Program to be used by the City <br />as a tool in the; design and development of annual pavement rehabilitation, pavement <br />reconstruction, annual slurry, fill-in street improvement and yearly CDBG grant application projects. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Pavement Management Inventory now complete will enhance its usefulness to the City if it is <br />linked to the City's Geographic Information System. Linking this program to the City's GIS will <br />allow the public as well as citywide employee use of the program. Additionally, the data pertaining <br />to the newly annexed areas that are now incorporated into the City as of September of 2004 will be <br />incorporated into the Pavement Management System in the additional scope of work included in <br />the Amendment to the original Agreement. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The Pavement Management Project was budgeted at $80,000 in account number 457-6633-6400- <br />3890. As $65,000 was expended for the services provided by the original GK and Associates <br />Agreement, $15,000 of the project's budget is available.
