Item #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Amer Jakher, P.E., City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE RESOLUTION AMENDING THE BUDGET AND CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR <br />2004-2005 TO INCLUDE CDBG PROJECT #104-28102. <br />DATE: August 30, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD) approved a $20,000 budget for the <br />construction costs of Veterans Park/Luque Center -Landscape and Irrigation Improvements project, <br />CDBG project #104-28102, on June 17, 2004. The City of Colton accepted the Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project #104-28102 on June 7t", 2004 and it currently is not <br />included in the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Program for fiscal year 2004-2005. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The scope of this project includes restoration of two picnic shelters in Veterans Park; one shelter is <br />1800 square feet and the other is 700 square feet. The restoration of these shelters includes <br />replacement of damaged or missing lumber and hardware, re -roof and painting. The landscaping <br />involved in the restoration of these shelters will include lawn, irrigation, demo concrete slab and <br />new concrete walls. The budgeted CDBG funds of $20,000 are approved only for directly related <br />construction costs incurred for this project. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />As this project is fully reimbursable it will not impact the General Fund, it is budgeted in account no. <br />215-0534-6920-3890 at $20,000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed project is categorically exempt pursuant to Section 153001 of the State of California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Not Applicable. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached Resolution amending the Budget and Capital <br />Improvement Project (CIP) Program for Fiscal Year 2004-2005, adding CDBG Project <br /># 104-28102. <br />7/10/03 City Clerk's Office Cb <br />
