R-93-05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDING NO. 05-06, <br />INCREASING PART-TIME SALARY CLASSIFICATION FOR POLICE <br />STENOGRAPHERS. <br />WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of Colton, Police Department has <br />determined that the City's current rate of compensation for the position of Police <br />Stenographer is lower than prevailing rates paid by other cities for the same position; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, THE City Council recognizes that an experienced and well-qualified <br />Police Stenographer is necessary for the Police Department to function efficiently; and <br />WHEREAS, the City council also recognizes that providing competitive wages is <br />essential to retaining experienced and well qualified employees; <br />WHEREAS, THE City council desires to amend the compensation for the <br />position of Police Stenographer by increasing a new hourly rate which is competitive <br />with prevailing rate paid by other cities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: <br />SECTION 1: Resolution No. 05-06, establishing a part-time pay and <br />classification plan for the City of Colton, is hereby amended as follows: <br />Salary Range Hourly rate <br />Police Stenographer 018 $15.00 <br />SECTION 2: The provisions of this resolution shall be effective as of July 1, <br />2005. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of August, 2005. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
