ITEM #14
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF August 16, 2005
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Bill Smith, Community Services Director
SUBJECT: Approval of Use of Fleming Park for Kellie Warren Wedding Ceremony on
Saturday, September 24,2005,10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
DATE: August 8, 2005
BACKGROUND:
San Bernardino resident Kellie Warren has submitted a request to use Fleming Park and its
bandshell for a wedding ceremony on Saturday, September 24, 2005. The event is scheduled to
proceed from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., including set-up and clean-up time.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully
hosted such ceremonies previously. Expected attendance is estimated at approximately 150
people, including adults and children. A facility reservation application has been submitted by the
individual, and a copy has been attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. The group will be
charged the standard non-resident usage fee of $100.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None
CONFLICT OF INTEREST:
Kellie Warren Wedding Ceremony
Contact: Kellie Warren, (909) 882-2759
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from Kellie Warren, for a
wedding ceremony, to be held at Fleming Park on Saturday, September 24, 2005. Staff also
recommends that this approval be contingent upon the group providing liability insurance and a
cleaning deposit to protect the City.
Attachment
REVIEW TEAM IRNLY
City Attorney: ^- Finance Director:
City Manager: OTHER:
