ITEM #9
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECMEBER 6, 20"05
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: Tom Hendrix, Fire Chief
SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to Sign an Affiliation Agreement with
the California Paramedic Institute
DATE: November 17, 2005
BACKGROUND:
The Fire Department has and continues to assist local community colleges and other training
institutions in the precepting of paramedic students. Paramedic students, as part of their training,
must be evaluated by a licensed paramedic during the last phase of their training. The student is a firefighter with the Loma Linda Fire
Department and has specifically requested to be precepted in Colton. The Fire Department has
not precepted students for PTI in the past and therefore needs to sign a new affiliation agreement.
The Fire Department is requesting the City Manager receive authorization to sign the attached
affiliation agreement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
No financial impact to the City.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
No environmental impact to the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Fire Department respectfully requests that the City Council authorize the City Manager to sign
the attached affiliation agreement with PTI.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST;
None
