ITEM #19 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 6, 2005 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: NOTICE OF COMPLETION/FINAL ACCEPTANCE FOR CDBG STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CDBG PROJECT #104-28105, #104-30405, #104-30305, AND #104-30111). DATE: NOVEMBER 28, 2005 BACKGROUND: On December 7, 2004, the City Council authorized the award of contract for CDBG Street Improvement Project to Contreras Construction Company. The project consisted of four (4) different CDBG Projects that include construction of new concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, drive approaches, handicap ramps, and alley and asphalt paving on various streets in Districts 3 and 4. The four (4) CDBG Projects, with their corresponding grant amount are as follows: 1. CDBG Proj. #104-28105 (South Colton) $ 248,825 2. CDBG Proj. #104-30405 (North Colton -around High School) $ 217,600 3. CDBG Proj. #104-30305 (Citrus Street—Mt. Vernon to Bordwell) $ 17,500 4. CDBG Proj. #104-30111 (Missing Handicap Ramp) $ 24,750 Total $ 508,675 ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: The original scope of work of the project was completed in the amount of $478,278.90, the contract amount is $505,283. At the request of the City, the following Change Orders were added to the proj ect: I. Remove & replace sidewalk, curb, gutter, sidewalk, $ 23,453.62 & driveway on D St. (City Hall) H. Install missing curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveway $ 51,944.00 on Orange Ave. between 8t' St. and Pennsylvania Ave. III. Remove and replace curb return at south east corner of $ 12,450.00 Vallev Blvd/Rancho Ave., relocate existin-a catch basin Sub -Total — Amount of Additional Work $ 87,847.62
