ITEM #14 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 20, 2005 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: APPROVE CHANGE ORDER FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />HVAC REPLACEMENT PROJECT (PARDESS AIR, INC.) IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $559615. <br />DATE: DECEMBER 12, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On June 7, 2005 the City Council authorized the award of contract for the P.D. HVAC <br />Replacement Project to Pardess Air, Inc. in the amount of $180,000. The scope of work <br />includes: furnishing of all labor, materials, appliances and tools necessary for the installation <br />of the Air Conditioning systems for the existing P.D. building. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />As part of the City Hall Phase II Remodeling Project, the old Chamber of Commerce <br />Building was annexed to the City Hall building to serve as mini -gymnasium for Police <br />Department personnel. At the time of the bidding process, the HVAC system was removed <br />from the scope of work due to design changes in the City Hall Phase II Project. At the <br />request of the City, Pardess Air, Inc submitted a change order in the amount of $55,615 with <br />the following scope of work: furnish and install two (2) 7.5 ton HVAC Units with <br />economizers & one (1) 2 -ton HVAC Units with outside air intake with curb, and four (4) <br />exhaust fan roof -mounted units with curb, ductwork, insulation, diffusers & grilles, <br />temperature control system, start up, testing, and balancing. Roofing Installation at this <br />portion of the project was also added as part of the scope of this change order. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Exact Business Name: Pardess Air, Inc. <br />President or Equal: Daniel Shaye <br />Contact or Representative: Gloria Go <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvements are exempt under State CEQA Guidelines Section <br />15301 (existing facilities). <br />
