CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 1, 2005 Item #9 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members FROM: Kenneth Rulon, Chief of Police SUBJECT: Resolution of the City of Colton of the City of Colton, California, amending the Budget for Fiscal Year commencing July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005. DATE: January 4, 2005 BACKGROUND: At the City Council Meeting of October 19, 2004, the City Council authorized the police department to accept a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) to fund technology improvements and enforcement operations. The funds have been received and a Resolution must be adopted authorizing an amendment to the fiscal year 2004/ 2005 Budget. DISCUSSION/ ANALYSIS: The Police Department applied for and received a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant from the Department of Justice. The funds are currently in the City's possession. In order to allocate the funds an amendment to the fiscal year 2004/ 2005 Budget is required allocating funds to the police department's expenditure accounts while increasing the corresponding revenue accounts. FINANCIAL IMPACT: No General Fund Impact. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Not Applicable ALTERNATIVES: Not Applicable CONFLICT OF INTEREST - Gift Disclosure Requirements: Not Applicable RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution, and authorize the above expenditures within the Grant guidelines.
