ITEM #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF July 5, 2005 <br />TO: <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: <br />Bill Smith - Community Services Director,( <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval of Permit Request for Use of Fleming Park for <br />Colton First Baptist Church, Outreach Concert, on Sunday, July <br />10, 2005,3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />DATE: June 27, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Colton First Baptist Church has submitted a request to use Fleming Park and its bandshell for <br />an outreach concert on Sunday, July 10, 2005. The event is scheduled to proceed from 3:00 p.m. <br />until 9:00 p.m., including set-up and clean-up. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an event, and has successfully <br />hosted such events previously, by the same applicant. Expected attendance is estimated at <br />approximately 400 people, including adults, teens and children. A facility reservation application <br />has been submitted by the group, as well as a supplemental letter of explanation, and a copy of <br />each has been attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event. The applicant will <br />be charged the standard facility usage fee of $25. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST; <br />Colton First Baptist Church <br />Contact: Susan Hill, (909) 356-8852 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from Colton First Baptist <br />Church, for an outreach concert, to be held at Fleming Park on Sunday, July 10, 2005.
