ITEM #6 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF July 19 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Bill Smith — Community Services Directo� <br />SUBJECT: Request Approval for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee <br />Appointment to the Position of Literacy Program Coordinator/ <br />Branch Supervisor in the Library Division of the Community <br />Services Department <br />DATE: <br />July 7, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Due to a recent staff resignation, there is a need to recruit and appoint the Literacy Program <br />Coordinator/Branch Supervisor position in the Library Division of the Community Services <br />Department. This position provides valuable support to the library, handling administrative tasks <br />and directing part-time staff at three locations. The Literacy Program Coordinator/Branch <br />Supervisor also develops literacy program goals and serves as a technical resource to the public <br />and the Library. The salary range for this position is $3,767 to $4,579 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for the position of Literacy Program Coordinator/Branch Supervisor will be conducted <br />and an eligibility list established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the <br />education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This position is a currently approved general fund position, in expenditure account group 100- <br />6200-6250. The Salary Range for the Literacy Program Coordinator/Branch Supervisor Position <br />is $3767-$4579.
