or a shift from installation incentives to production incentives to optimize benefits to the utility and the <br />customer. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funds for this program are available through the Colton Electric Utility Public Benefits Program. <br />The department has budgeted $20,000.00 for the remainder of FY 04/05 in Acc. 520-8000-8035 <br />(Public Benefits Residential) and $50,000.00 in Acc. 520-8000-8037 (Public Benefits Commercial.) <br />ENVIROMENTAL Il14PACT: <br />PV systems reduce air emissions due to the reduction in energy requirements provided through coal <br />fired generation plants. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Council approve the incentive program for the installation of PV systems at $4.00 <br />per installed Watt not to exceed 50% of the total installed cost to a maximum of $20,000.00 for <br />residential customers and $50,000.00 for commercial customers, as funds are available.
