CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 15, 2005 <br />a. One Black/ white police vehicle with the ARMC logo displayed on the exterior; <br />b. Four (4) mobile radios for officers assigned to the ARMC detail; <br />c. Two (2) less -lethal devices to be utilized by officers assigned to the ARMC <br />detail; <br />d. Background costs associated with hiring personnel to replace those employees <br />assigned the ARMC detail. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The revenue generated as explained in <br />administration of this contract. Besides <br />prorated based on actual start date. Costs <br />and are 100% reimbursable. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />Not Applicable <br />the agreement will offset the costs incurred in the <br />the $79,000.00 in start-up costs, other costs will be <br />for the current fiscal year will not exceed $235,000.00 <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />Do not authorize the recommended actions and continue to provide service to ARMC utilizing on - <br />duty police personnel. <br />This Agreement will enhance the police department's service levels at ARMC, in addition to the <br />significant positive impacts on patrol services throughout the community. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST - Gift Disclosure Requirements: <br />Not Applicable <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council: (1) approve the proposed agreement to provide law <br />enforcement services to ARMC; (2) authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute the <br />agreement with any non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager, the Chief of Police, <br />and the City Attorney; and (3) authorize staff to begin recruitment for the positions as outlined in <br />the agreement to provide law enforcement services under the agreement. <br />Attachments: <br />Agreement <br />Resolution <br />Prepared by: Frank Coe, Police Lieutenant <br />REVIEW TEAMONJLY <br />City Attorney A, ,h lu� Finance <br />City Manager: I U)� OTHER: <br />
