I <br />Marcft 28 — Aprit 3) 200 <br />Whereas, since 1975, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program <br />has provided focal governments with the resources required to meet the needs of <br />persons of low- and moderate -income; and <br />Whereas, thousands of nationwide non-profit organizations, local governments, <br />programs and projects rely on CDBG funds to administer and customize programs <br />that identify and resolve pressing local problems, such as jobs, affordable, housing, <br />neighborhood and human services needs, and other targeted priorities; and <br />Whereas, the CDBG Program has positively impacted our local economies through <br />physical, social and economic development programs aimed at creating and <br />retaining jobs, improving our local tax base and public infrastructure; and <br />Whereas, the critical value, merits and diversity of the CDBG Program continues <br />to be greatly appreciated by Congressional Leaders, as well as, a significant <br />number of organizations, programs and projects that rely on this funding. <br />Now, Therefore, I, Deirdre H. Bennett, Mayor of the City of Colton, along with <br />my fellow Council Members, do hereby join the County of San Bernardino in <br />honoring the Community Development Block. Grant Program in proclaiming the <br />week of March 28 - April 3, 2005, as National Community Development Week <br />and urge afl citizens to recognize the significant contributions the CDBG Program <br />has made to our community. <br />In Witness Whereof , I have hereunto set my hand and cause the Sea[ of the <br />City of Colton to be affixed this 10 day of March 2oo5. <br />DEIRDRE It.
