FINANCIAL/FISCAL IMPACT:
In 2002 the City was awarded a $50,000 grant for the use of historically preserving and improving
the Carnegie Library. To date $20,063 of these funds have been expended, thus the remaining
funds total $29,937. These funds were budgeted in account 215-7000-7007-3890, however when
the proposed roofing improvements were completed at the close of the 2004 fiscal year the
expenditure account was closed. The remaining funding made available by the grant would be an
appropriate funding source to finance the installation of the proposed benches; the remaining grant
funds of $29,937 will be budgeted in account 457-6800-6842-3890 as was initially intended per
resolution 102-02. Staff anticipates expending the remaining funds available after the purchase of
the benches to install new windows at the Carnegie Library.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the approval of a resolution authorizing:
• The appropriation of remaining grant funds to be used for the Colton Museum Restoration
Project in the amount of $29,937.
• The purchase of park benches for an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.
• The addition of the Colton Museum Restoration Project to the CIP for fiscal year
2005/2006.
Attachment:
Resolution
Amanda Rhinehart — Public Works
REVIEW TEAM ONLY
City Attorney: M . 1M WibAvg 16 Finance Director: `U
City Manager: - CG,, OTHER:
