This is the first of two rounds of funding that will be offered during CaIHFA's 2005-2006 fiscal year. ` We are proud to report that the HELP Program is in its eighth year of funding low interest deferred housing loans to local agencies for innovative, diverse, and comprehensive housing programs. As of this date, the Agency has awarded $140 million in funds under the program for the projects and programs of 94 local government entities statewide, which is expected to result in the production of nearly 18,000 affordable housing units. We look forward to your application for HELP funds. For your convenience, we have enclosed the HELP guidelines and requirements for the application package, and request that you pay particular attention to the "priorities" and "proposal limitations" sections (page 3) for this funding round.
