City Engineer Review. The city engineer or his designee shall review the <br />working details, drawings, plans and specifications prepared for every public project which may <br />affect the design or operation of public improvements and which may bring into question the <br />City's liability for dangerous condition of public property." <br />SECTION 2. Section 3.08.060 (D) of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"D. City Engineer Review. The city engineer or his designee shall review the <br />working details, drawings, plans and specifications prepared for every maintenance project and <br />other general services project which may affect the design or operation of public improvements <br />and which may bring into question the City's liability for dangerous condition of public property." <br />SECTION 3. Section 13.04.110 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"If the city engineer or his designee determines the installation of fire hydrants, <br />valves and other appurtenances are necessary at the time the main is extended, no additional <br />charges for such installations shall be incurred by the applicant. All such installations, including <br />the extended main, shall be and remain the property of the city. This section does not include <br />the charges for service connections as provided by Section 13.04.050 of this chapter." <br />SECTION 4. Section 13.16.150 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"No person, firm or corporation shall deposit sewage in the sewerage system that <br />produces a five-day biochemical oxygen demand in excess of six hundred parts per million by <br />weight without obtaining a permit allowing such deposit from the city engineer or his designee." <br />SECTION 5. Section 13.16.160 (E) of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"E. Other information as may be deemed necessary by the city engineer or his <br />designee." <br />SECTION 6. Section 13.16.170 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"Upon receipt of an application as provided, the city engineer or his designee shall <br />promptly make such investigation as he shall deem necessary. In the event that the city <br />engineer finds and determines: <br />A. That the sanitary waste pipeline in which the connection is to discharge <br />has sufficient unused carrying capacity for the disposition of these wastes; <br />B. That the character of the wastes proposed to be discharged by the <br />applicant is such that they can successfully be treated in the sewage facilities of the city; <br />C. That such wastes will not result in damage to the sewage treatment <br />facilities or sewerage system, then the City Engineer or his designee shall issue a permit to the <br />applicant as requested. <br />-2- <br />
