ITEM #13 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2005 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: KENNETH RULON, CHIEF OF POLICE SUBJECT: APPROVE AND ADOPT BUDGET AMENDMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000.00. DATE: SEPTEMBER 12, 2005 BACKGROUND: On August 2, 2005, the City Council approved the Police Department's proposed purchase of a Mobile Command Center to be funded with proceeds from asset seizure accounts, VITEP and State and Federal Grants. No General Funds are being used for this project. Approval for this project included $100,000.00 to be used from the VITEP account. The accompanying Resolution is required to amend the 2005/2006 Fiscal Year Budget. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: On August 2, 2005, the City Council approved the purchase of a Mobile Command Center to be funded in part, by the VITEP account. On August 2, 2005, the City Council also approved and adopted Resolution No. R-101-05 which amended the 2005/2006 Fiscal Year Budget for three (3) of the four (4) funding sources for in the project. Therefore, the accompanying Resolution is required to include the forth funding source, VITEP, and amend the Fiscal Year Budget commencing on July 1, 2005 and ending on June 30, 2006 in the Amount of $100,000.00: FINANCIAL IMPACT: To amendment the Fiscal Year Budget commencing on July 1, 2005 and ending on June 30, 2006 in the Amount of $100,000.00 City Council must adopt RESOLUTION NO. R-1 2-1 -05. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None. CONFLICT OF INTEREST — Gift Disclosure Requirements None. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt RESOLUTION NO. R- IL-1 -05.
