Councilman Rehrer said he was sorry that his children could not be present this evening to join in the celebration of this great occassion, however, he would 4 41 like to thank all of those people involved in his campaign for their hard work and support, and especially his wife, Evelyn. Mr. Rehrer said he also agrees with Councilwoman Garcia that City employees should be allowed to become actively in- volved in politics without fear of losing their job or being discriminated against. Mayor Huntoon stated he would also like to thank everyone that participated in his campaign, especially his campaign manager and wife, and his wife, Pauline. Mayor Huntoon said all of the people should be appreciative of the candidates that ran for office, for their willingness to serve the City, and everyone that did run for office, win or lose, are still winners because they did run. Mayor Pro Tempore Councilwoman Cisneros nominated Councilman Rehrer for Mayor Pro Tempore. Moved by Mayor Huntoon, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to close the nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. Unanimous vote. Mayor Huntoon stated that Councilman Leroy Rehrer has been elected as Mayor Pro Tempore. CONSENT CALENDAR: (1) Minutes April 3, 1984.
