MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: Proclamation Councilman Rehrer read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of April as AMERICAN LEGION CHILDREN & YOUTH MONTH. The Proclama- tion was accepted by Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer and Mr. Les Swalley. Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of April 15 through 21, 1984, as VICTIMS RIGHTS WEEK. Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of April 8 through 14, 1984, as NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK. The Proclama- tion was accepted by Martine Hornburg, City Librarian. CoBoards & Commissions Councilwoman Cisneros recommended the appointment of Frank Navarro to Q the Recreation and Parks Commission, to replace John Cervantes. Q Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, to close the nominations for appointment to the Recreation and Parks Commission. Unanimous vote. Discussion then followed on the reappointment of Art Porter, who had not completed two terms. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approv- ing the appointment of Frank Navarro to the Recreation and Parks Com- mission. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, approving the reappointment of Art Porter to the Recreation and Parks Commis- sion. Unanimous vote. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Weed Abatement Res. No. 4443 Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Director of Community Services Joe McGee reported that the Public Hearing this evening is to hear any protests or objections to the re- moval of weeds and other materials, and all notices have been mailed to the affected property owners in accordance with the Weed Abatement Law. Mr. McGee concluded, after the hearing, if there are insuffi- cient protests, it would be in order to adopt Resolution No. 4443. Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, the Public Hearing was terminated. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to ap- prove RESOLUTION NO. 4443. Unanimous vote.
