Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Proclamation <br />Councilman Rehrer read in full a Proclamation declaring the month <br />of April as AMERICAN LEGION CHILDREN & YOUTH MONTH. The Proclama- <br />tion was accepted by Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer and Mr. Les Swalley. <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of <br />April 15 through 21, 1984, as VICTIMS RIGHTS WEEK. <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of <br />April 8 through 14, 1984, as NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK. The Proclama- <br />tion was accepted by Martine Hornburg, City Librarian. <br />CoBoards & Commissions <br />Councilwoman Cisneros recommended the appointment of Frank Navarro to <br />Q the Recreation and Parks Commission, to replace John Cervantes. <br />Q <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, to close the <br />nominations for appointment to the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Discussion then followed on the reappointment of Art Porter, who had <br />not completed two terms. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, approv- <br />ing the appointment of Frank Navarro to the Recreation and Parks Com- <br />mission. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, approving <br />the reappointment of Art Porter to the Recreation and Parks Commis- <br />sion. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Weed Abatement <br />Res. No. 4443 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that <br />no protests or objections had been received. <br />Director of Community Services Joe McGee reported that the Public <br />Hearing this evening is to hear any protests or objections to the re- <br />moval of weeds and other materials, and all notices have been mailed <br />to the affected property owners in accordance with the Weed Abatement <br />Law. Mr. McGee concluded, after the hearing, if there are insuffi- <br />cient protests, it would be in order to adopt Resolution No. 4443. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, the <br />Public Hearing was terminated.
