Mr. Benest stated if the City crews were to be involved in this, the <br />work would have to be done during regular working hours in order to <br />avoid paying overtime. Mr. Benest suggested that Mr. Morgan speak with <br />Public Works Director Hutton and Electric Utility Director Drews on this <br />matter, and possibly something could be resolved before the end of the <br />meeting. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Electric Meter Charges <br />Res. No. R-100-87 <br />City Manager Benest reported on the removal of the customer charge of <br />$3.53 per meter per month from Rate Schedule R-1, Residential Service. <br />The total annual decrease in revenues from eliminating the charge is <br />estimated to be about $500,000. Reserve Account funds and decreased <br />costs of purchased power will be used to offset the loss of revenues <br />at present. The Utility Commission, at its meeting of July 6, 1987, <br />voted unanimously to recommend to the City Council they adopt the change <br />in rates. <br />Mr. Benest concluded Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. R- <br />100-87, eliminating the customer charge of $3.53 per meter per month <br />on Schedule R-1, Residential Service. <br />Mr. Benest also commended Electric Utility Director Drews for his <br />efforts on this matter. <br />Mr. Benest advised there will be a Press Release on this matter tomorrow <br />afternoon, July 22, 1987. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving and <br />adopting Resolution No. R-100-87. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-100-87 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON ESTABLISHING SCHEDULE R-1, RESIDEN- <br />TIAL SERVICE, ELECTRIC RATE SCHEDULE. <br />Closed Session <br />Mr. Benest requested a Closed Session at the end of the meeting on <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Ordinance No. 0-12-87 and Resolution No. R-91-87 <br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 0-12-87 for Second Read- <br />ing, reading it as to number and title only, stating this ordinance per- <br />tains to various zone changes, and Resolution No. R-91-87, relating to <br />General Plan amendments. <br />ki <br />
