Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to tenta- <br />tive approve the Refuse Collection Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />Cemetery <br />Mr. Benest stated the Cemetery is a status quo operation, and has borrow- <br />ed money extensively from the Electric Fund. Mr. Benest said the City <br />needs to look at a fee structure, and consider funding a Marketing Cam- <br />paign. <br />Mr. Benest then reviewed the three requests under Capital Improvements, <br />an irrigation system, block wall and gates, and Cemetery lighting. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to tentative- <br />ly approve the Cemetery Budget. Unanimous vote. <br />Explorer Program <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to include an <br />additional amount of $7,000 to the Police Department Budget for the <br />Explorer Program, as previously discussed. Unanimous vote. <br />Budget <br />City Manager Benest said the City now has a balanced budget, in the <br />amount of $34,300,000. <br />Hermosa Cemetery <br />City Manager Benest invited everyone to attend the ground breaking <br />ceremonies at Hermosa Cemetery for the Memorial Gardens, on Sunday, <br />June 14, 1987, at 1:00 p. m. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia and unani- <br />mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p. m. <br />JANE M.
