ORDINANCE NO. 0-19-87 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING
(First Reading) THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO ISSUE
CITATIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF CERTAIN CHAPTERS OF
THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE.
Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to pass
First Reading and waive further reading of Ordinance No. 0-19-87.
Vote was unanimous.
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Corporation Yards
General Services Supervisor Peterson spoke about the development and
plans for the proposed Corporation Yards for the City, and introduced
the Project Architect, Mr. Tim Wilson of GTS Associates.
Mr. Wilson referred to the architectural renderings and site plans
for the new Corporation Yards, which will be located south of the
existing Electrical Yards, consisting of five major buildings which
will house Administration, Stores, Shops, Auto Shop, and Water De-
partment. Mr. Wilson said there will also be a vehicle wash area,
paint booth, and storage areas.
Mr. Wilson advised the primary access will be at the end of "L" Street,
with a secondary access from 11th Street. Mr. Wilson said the fencing
will consist of a decorative block wall, chain link, and an entry gate,
with black top paving throughout.
Mr. Wilson concluded they are attempting to preserve what is presently
there at the yard while adding to it, and provide low cost but effec-
tive structures.
Mr. Glenn Wilson, City Engineer, stated one of the key elements in the
planning and preparation was they were able to get all of the Division
Heads to look at the total plan and come up with some input for the de-
velopment of the Yards.
Asst. City Manager Keane advised the preliminary cost of the new Corp-
oration Yard is 2.5 million dollars. Ms. Keane said Staff is presently
looking at a bond issue for financing, and will come back with more in-
formation on this for the Council.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the City Council at this
time, on motion of Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia
and unanimously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
HELEN A. RAMOS, CMC
City Clerk
City of Colton
4
