CITY CLERK'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />F.1Prtinnc <br />Res. No. R-9-88 <br />City Clerk Ramos reported from her memorandum regarding the Special Mail <br />Ballot Election for the James Sullivan Mutual Water Improvement District <br />to be held on Tuesday, February 9, 1988, recommending approval of Reso- <br />lution No. R-9-88, authorizing the City Clerk to canvass the Election <br />and submit certified results. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to <br />approve Staff's recommendations and Resolution No. R-9-88. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-9-88 - <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CANVASS <br />OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD <br />ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 198831 BE MADE BY THE <br />CITY CLERK. <br />Mrs. Peggy Lang, resident of the Mariposa Homes tract, spoke to the <br />Council Members with regard to proposed development adjacent to her <br />home, which was causing a great deal of dust and dirt due to the lack <br />of using water trucks, and asked the Council to do something about it. <br />City Attorney Edwards advised Mrs. Lang that because of changes in the <br />Brown Act, State law prohibits the City Council from taking any action <br />on this matter this evening, because this item did not appear on, nor <br />was it a part of, the Agenda as posted. <br />Discussion then followed among Mayor Gonzales, Staff members and Mrs. <br />Lang regarding this problem, whereby Mrs. Lang was advised that Staff <br />would speak with her after the meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business to come before the City Council at this <br />time, on motion of Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios <br />and unanimously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 7:12 p.m. <br />HELEN A.
