CITY CLERK'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: F.1Prtinnc Res. No. R-9-88 City Clerk Ramos reported from her memorandum regarding the Special Mail Ballot Election for the James Sullivan Mutual Water Improvement District to be held on Tuesday, February 9, 1988, recommending approval of Reso- lution No. R-9-88, authorizing the City Clerk to canvass the Election and submit certified results. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to approve Staff's recommendations and Resolution No. R-9-88. Vote was unanimous. RESOLUTION NO. R-9-88 - ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CANVASS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 198831 BE MADE BY THE CITY CLERK. Mrs. Peggy Lang, resident of the Mariposa Homes tract, spoke to the Council Members with regard to proposed development adjacent to her home, which was causing a great deal of dust and dirt due to the lack of using water trucks, and asked the Council to do something about it. City Attorney Edwards advised Mrs. Lang that because of changes in the Brown Act, State law prohibits the City Council from taking any action on this matter this evening, because this item did not appear on, nor was it a part of, the Agenda as posted. Discussion then followed among Mayor Gonzales, Staff members and Mrs. Lang regarding this problem, whereby Mrs. Lang was advised that Staff would speak with her after the meeting. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios and unanimously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 7:12 p.m. HELEN A.
