ADJOURNED CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION <br />October 2, 1990 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Study <br />Session of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:20 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 650 <br />North La Cadena Drive, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Lofy, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Sotelo, City Attorney Edwards, and City <br />Clerk Ramos. Absent was Council Member Rehrer. <br />Mr. David Davis, City Librarian, introduced Mary Ann Gotheridge, repre- <br />senting the San Bernardino County Arts Foundation, David Rosales and <br />Linda Garcia local artists. Mr. Davis stated that in partnership be- <br />tween the City and the County Arts Foundation, artist David and Linda <br />will be directing the Mural Project at the Luque Center. <br />Ms. Gotheridge stated David and Linda will be working as Artist -in - <br />residence in the "Partners in Arts Foundation" funded and operated by <br />the Arts Foundation. Linda and David are conducting an 8 week work- <br />shop. Participants (ages 8-55) in the workship will design, construct <br />and paint the mural. <br />Linda Garcia and David Rosales addressed the Council stating the mural <br />will the 5%2' x 20' feet and will be displayed over the newspaper racks <br />at Luque Center. David and Linda displayed some of their art work and <br />explained their individual styles. They also explained to the Council <br />how the mural project would be pieced together to tell the history <br />(Past, Present and Future) of Colton, utilizing the Library in which to <br />do the background research. The mural will be a composite of different <br />styles and techniques. In closing the artists stated upon completion <br />there will be an unveiling and celebration. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting <br />at 7:30 p.m. <br />HELEN A.
