COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Fees <br />Community Development Director Aguilera reported that the proposed <br />expansion of fees are a result of a new environmental filing fee <br />requirement established by both the State of California and the County <br />of San Bernardino. <br />Director Aguilera recommended Council adopt a Resolution setting fees <br />for Community Development Services, which supercedes any Resolution <br />inconsistent herewith. RESOLUTION NO. R-30-91. <br />Moved by Council Member Roman, seconded by Council Member Rehrer, to <br />approve staff's recommendation. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-30-91 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING <br />FEES FOR FILING APPLICATIONS, AND FEES FOR <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION SERVICES <br />AS PROVIDED FOR IN ORDINANCE 1602. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATION: <br />Fees <br />City Manager Sotelo reported that historically, the City of Colton has <br />absorbed the administrative operating cost for the Business License <br />Process at a substantial loss. The current business license process <br />has not been modified since its adoption in 1975. The costs listed <br />as administrative have never been supported and represent a revenue <br />loss of $40,000 annually to the City of Colton. The proposed amend- <br />ment will include an initial $25.00 fee for new licenses and a $10.00 <br />annual renewal fee. <br />City Manager Sotelo recommend the City Council approve the proposed <br />modification to Title 5, Business License and Regulation of the <br />Municipal Code. The application fee will go into effect immediately <br />and renewal fee will be effective January 1, 1992. <br />Council Member Roman questioned where the revenues are going that <br />are being collected at this time from business licensing. City Manager <br />Sotelo responded that 100% goes back into the City but none of these <br />mones are for administrative costs. <br />Motion by Council Member Cisneros, seconded by Council Member Lofy, <br />to approve staff's recommendation. Motion carried.
