COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Fees
Community Development Director Aguilera reported that the proposed
expansion of fees are a result of a new environmental filing fee
requirement established by both the State of California and the County
of San Bernardino.
Director Aguilera recommended Council adopt a Resolution setting fees
for Community Development Services, which supercedes any Resolution
inconsistent herewith. RESOLUTION NO. R-30-91.
Moved by Council Member Roman, seconded by Council Member Rehrer, to
approve staff's recommendation. Unanimous vote.
RESOLUTION NO. R-30-91 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF COLTON, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING
FEES FOR FILING APPLICATIONS, AND FEES FOR
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION SERVICES
AS PROVIDED FOR IN ORDINANCE 1602.
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATION:
Fees
City Manager Sotelo reported that historically, the City of Colton has
absorbed the administrative operating cost for the Business License
Process at a substantial loss. The current business license process
has not been modified since its adoption in 1975. The costs listed
as administrative have never been supported and represent a revenue
loss of $40,000 annually to the City of Colton. The proposed amend-
ment will include an initial $25.00 fee for new licenses and a $10.00
annual renewal fee.
City Manager Sotelo recommend the City Council approve the proposed
modification to Title 5, Business License and Regulation of the
Municipal Code. The application fee will go into effect immediately
and renewal fee will be effective January 1, 1992.
Council Member Roman questioned where the revenues are going that
are being collected at this time from business licensing. City Manager
Sotelo responded that 100% goes back into the City but none of these
mones are for administrative costs.
Motion by Council Member Cisneros, seconded by Council Member Lofy,
to approve staff's recommendation. Motion carried. Council Member
Roman and Council Member Rehrer voting No.
ORDINANCE NO. 0-5-91 - AN ORDIANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
(First Reading) COLTON, AMENDING TITLE 5, BUSINESS LICENSE
AND REGULATIONS, OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE.
6
APR 1 q 199t
