The architect for the proposed project, Michael Barbero, stated the site
has been designed as a campus/park-like setting and the building, which
has been limited to 5 or 6 stories, is centrally designed for traffic
impact. The nursing stations will be modernly designed and also cen-
trally located for easy access to each patients' room. Mr. Barbero con-
cluded this will be a state-of-the-art medical center.
Discussion then followed among Councilmembers and Mr. Mays with regard
to the proposed medical facility, services, possible future employment,
etc.
Mr. Fred Cordova, 190 West "E" Street, Colton, asked if they will be
bringing all the facilities the County now has to the new medical center.
Mr. Mays answered yes, with the exception of the mental health center,
they are not sure at this point about that facility.
Mr. Mays concluded they will be meeting with the Board of Supervisors
on Monday, July 8, 1991, and will make their proposal at that time, and
Colton will be at the top of the list as a proposed site.
The City Council thanked Mr. Mays for the presentation.
ADJOURNMENT:
Moved by Councilman Lofy, seconded by Councilman Roman and unanimously
passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the Meeting at 7:25 p. m.
. 1( a04
E M.
