COUNCIL MEETING
June 25, 1991
A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held
on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding.
ROLL CALL:
Council Members present were Roman, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor
Gonzales. Also present were Acting City Manager Edwards and City Clerk
Ramos.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
Mayor Gonzales stated he has two speaker cards from George Fulp re-
questing to address the City Council on Item Nos. 6 and 7 under the
Consent Calendar, Award of Bid.
Mr. George V. Fulp, 1497 Cindee Lane, stated there was no price mentioned
in either bid award, and he would also like to know how many other bidders
were involved in making these awards.
Acting City Manager Edwards advised that with Item No. 6, there was only
one bid received, and with Item No. 7, the bid was awarded to the low
bidder.
Mr. Jesse Valdivia, Sr., 951 Illinois, Colton, spoke to the Council about
putting up Stop Signs at Colton Avenue and C Street, where his nephew was
struck by a vehicle and killed. Mr. Valdivia said Stop Signs are also
needed at Colton Avenue and E Street and Fairview. Mr. Valdivia stated
there are too many vehicles going too fast and more accidents are going
to happen, and something needs to be done.
Councilman Roman suggested that Mr. Valdivia talk with Police Chief
Stratton and Public Works Director John Hutton in this regard.
Mr. Jose R. Moran, 686 East E Street, complained that the police cars
are continually speeding along E Street, and the speed limit is 25 mph.
Mr. Moran said if all the citizens have to obey the speed limits, then
the police should have to as well.
(1) Minutes
May 28, 1991; June 11, 1991; June 12, 1991 - Adjourned Meetings
June 4, 1991 - Regular Meeting
June 4, 1991 - Special Meeting
(2) Warrants
104724 - 104742, 104745 - 105178
169755 - 169941, 169942 - 170178, 170179 - 170368
June 20, 1991
1
M 2 5 1991
