Moved by Council Member Gonzales, seconded by Council Member Roman to adopt Resolution No. R-37-91. Unanimous vote. RESOLUTION NO. R-37-91 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-23-91. Discussion followed with regard to whether the Chief of Police was covered by the Police M.O.U. City Manager Sotelo read from the Executive Unit M.O.U., which specifically addressed the Police Chief's salary. Mayor Gonzales stated with the adoption of the salary increases for the Police Chief and Captain, the City Manager who is the Chief Executive officer of the City, is now 14.3% below the Police Chief. Mayor Gonzales recommended a salary increase for the City Manager of 5% over the Police Chief. On Council concensus, it was decided that the matter of the City Manager's salary would be addressed at the next meeting. Council Member Cisneros stated the City Manager did receive a 6.5% cost of living increase, the same as the other employees and he does have, unlike other employees, a guaranteed contract. Mayor Gonzales stated he would have the information to the City Council Members for their review in sufficient time prior to the next meeting. Mayor Gonzales stated the City Manager does work under a contract approved by the City Council and the contract is specific with regard to evaluation and merit increases. Mayor Gonzales requested that the next meeting be recorded. CLOSED SESSION: The City Council adjourned to Close Session at 2:21 p.m., to discuss Personnel Matters pursuant to Government Code Section 54957. The Council reconvened at 4:56 p.m., all Members present. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unani- mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the Meeting at 4:58 p. m. /,; HELEN A.
