CITY MANAQER' REP RTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />ilities Rate Survey <br />City Manager Lewis announced that results of a recent rate survey which showed that the <br />residential utilities rates are generally lower in the City of Colton than in surrounding cities. <br />Project Coordinator Daryl Parrish displayed a graph which demonstrated the survey results. <br />results, He reported that in surveying the electricity, sewer, water and refuse rates for <br />surrounding cities based on certain levels of consumption, the Colton monthly bill of $89.47, <br />was clearly less than the surrounding cities' average monthly bill of $117.58. Mr. Parrish <br />stated that this information would be disseminated through an article in the community <br />newsletter. <br />Bud et <br />City Manager Lewis said the Mate appears to have approved a budget. He indicated that <br />the City's budget may be impacted by $225,080, with Redevelopment Agency suffering a <br />$600,000 reduction. The state budget will severely affect the special districts and the <br />school system. He concluded that the impact to the City's budget is a little bit less than <br />anticipated. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Ken Herron <br />Mr. G. V. Fulp, 1497 Cindee Ln., referred to the City's major lass of 17 staff members in <br />1989, for better salaries. He listed the current highest paid City employees and wondered <br />about the current turnover. Mr. Fulp reported rumor that the Parks, Recreation and Human <br />Services Director Herron is on his way out. He found Mr. Herron highly qualified for this job. <br />He has already accomplished more than his predecessor in the six months he has been here. <br />The City gave Mr. Cayten one year; therefore, Mr. Herron is entitled to equal time and fair <br />treatment. <br />Mr. Fulp reported that the western area residents of Colton w Iron Norse, Cross -Creek and <br />Maricopa Tract - are not receiving the community newletter. <br />Mr. Henry T. Mendoza, 484 West "M" Street, expressed concern over a rumor he heard <br />about Ken Herron. He pointed out that Mr. Herron was highly recommended. Mr. Lofy was <br />acquainted with Mr. Herron and Mr. Cayten. Mr. Mendoza stated he heard another rumor <br />which he hoped was not true because he held Mr. Lofy in high respect, He charged Mr. Lofy <br />with granting the job of Parks and Recreation Director. <br />N <br />
