He requested appropriation of $21,200.00 to cover elections costs for City Clerk Office. He also requested $70,000 for retiring fire personnel and. $155,000 for overtime requirements for the Fire Department. Councilmember Beltran read his memorandum, dated February 23, 1993, and moved, seconded by Councilmember Dios, to have a window period for leave; eliminating the 10/4 work week and submitted alternatives; filling or upgrading of certain positions; replacing cellular telephones with pagers; transfer of vehicle; limit use of City vehicles; and budget, session. ,after discussion and council agreement to set up a study session, Councilmember Beltran withdrew the above motion and Councilmember Rios withdrew the second. Motion by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councilmember Sandoval., to appropriate. $21,200.€0 for the City Clerk's Office and $225,000 for the Fire Department carried with Councilmember Beltran voting "no."
