There <br />was an indication that a contractor looked at the site. <br />Another problem erupted on June 25, 1993. b MrK Braley called 911 <br />and two hours later the Fire Department and Southern California <br />Edison were on the scene. One-half of the road was wiped out and <br />a teleohone pole was knocked out. There was severe damage to <br />properly of the Bailey, Mohler, Howard, Hamam ra and the neighbor <br />.own below. The City worked night and day, spreading twenty <br />loads of dirt. Two neighbors were teen care of. Mr. Bradley <br />stated that he had been in contact with City Clerk Ramos since <br />June. He believed that they were getting the run around and <br />nothing had been done. He described a hole, 6 feed in diameter, <br />left from the mud and with the rainy season upon us, there is <br />fear of further damage. <br />City Manager Young informed tha he had met i ityere Ramos <br />and Water Utilities Manager Lavin. He stated that the City will <br />do what has to be done. As to the question of fault, the matter <br />will have to be decided by the courts. He indicated that the <br />contractor would be working on both sides of the road. It is <br />anticipated that the contractor will be at the site tomorrow <br />afternoon and all week next week. <br />Mr <br />m n dl if the Wild Canyon Reservoir was across from <br />the site property in question. Water Utilities Manager Lavin <br />answered affirmatively. Mr. Bradley stated he was told that the <br />contractor was bidding both jobs. Manager Lavin said bidding <br />both jobs is not being done at this time rather, the job at <br />anyon Reservoir will consist of putting lute down and spraying <br />i wild flowers. <br />In response to Councilmember eltr .n"s inquiry as to the delay, <br />City Clerk Ramos indicated ed °there is otent ialitigation. She <br />deferred the question for the City Attorney. She offend to <br />r id summary in executive ,session.. <br />Firms or <br />Battalion Chief Turner reported that the only fire in the County <br />as in the area involving fanning, Yucaipa and Cherry Valley. He <br />indicated the Cityt,s Fire stations re manned. There is a spall <br />task force of surrounding citiesf nits ready to respond should <br />there be a fire in any of the cities. <br />Folie Report <br />Captain Lunsford reported with the present change in shifts, each <br />officer coming on duty has been alerted to check their assigned <br />areas for potential fires.
