Mayor Gonzales introduced esolu ion No. R-117-93,1 in support o <br />Public Safety and Reform of the State of California. <br />Moved by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councimemb r <br />Bennett, to approve RESOLUTION NO. R-117-93. Motion carried. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS. - <br />Mayer Gonzales announced this was the time and place fixed for <br />continuance of the public hearing to consider the Abandonment of <br />a Portion of Washington Street (Formerly Barton Road <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting the Notice of <br />Continuance of Public Hearing and reported that no protests or <br />objections were received. <br />Public Works Director Hutton reported the area being proposed for <br />the sheet abandonment is a 20 foot wide strip of lamed on the <br />southerly ,gide of Barton Road, running adjacent to the Montecito <br />Memorial. Park, containing approximately 11,150 square feet. As a. <br />physical i.de ti,fi alio at the northerly side of a grass lawn <br />area lying between Gage Canal and Barton. Road. <br />o nci,lm tuber Sandoval asked if Montecito will be responsible for <br />maintenance and if a block wall would be built. Director Hutton <br />responded yea Monte ito will be responsible for maintenance and a. <br />block wall is to be built. Councilmember Sandoval inquired red as to <br />whether Mon ecito would be paying a fee for the land. Dir ctor <br />Hutton responded the City had acquired the land. through an Ocean <br />to Ocean Highway yem wherein, land was taken from the a.dl scent <br />owners without fee; therefore, Mon eci o was not charged a fee. <br />.director Hutton said the City did acquire an agreement froom, <br />Monteoi o for dedication. of a second reservoir site. <br />Moved by Council member Cisneros, seconded by Coon iv l m tuber <br />Sandoval to close the public hearing.
