CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />Presentation Judy Clarke, RDA Project Manager 11, introduced the City of Colton <br />business spotlight recipient Mrs. Redd's Pies, located in District 4. Mayor <br />Bennett and District 4 representative, Councilmember Ramos presented <br />a certificate of appreciation to Tom Telliard, Owner, for their contribution <br />for enhancing the economy of the City of Colton. <br />> Presentation Presentation by Darlene Duron and Adrianne Garcia, Chairperson, "Relay <br />for Life" Event recently held for the first time in the City of Colton at Cesar <br />Chavez Park. The 24 hour walking marathon raised $14,000 for breast <br />cancer awareness. <br />Certificate CM Mitchell presented to Justin Peck, Army Medic Specialist and Purple <br />Heart Recipient a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Colton. <br />Jesse Valenzuela, representative for Congressman Joe Baca <br />acknowledged Army Medic Specialist Peck's act of bravery and that a <br />Certificate of Recognition from Congressman Baca has been signed and <br />forwarded to Army Medic Specialist Peck. <br />Frances Vasquez, representative for State Senator Nell Soto <br />acknowledged Army Medic Specialist Peck's act of bravery and <br />presented a Resolution from the State of California Senate. <br />Anika McKesey, representative for Assemblyman Joe Baca Jr. <br />acknowledged Army Medic Specialist Peck's act of bravery and <br />presented a Certificate of Recognition from the State of California <br />Assembly. <br />Josie Gonzales, San Bernardino County Supervisor for the 5 th District, <br />acknowledged Army Medic Specialist Peck and presented a plaque of <br />recognition for his act of bravery from the San Bernardino County Board <br />of Supervisors. <br />Frank Granado, Commander of American Legion Post #155, <br />acknowledged Army Medic Specialist Peck's act of bravery, on behalf of <br />the American Legion Post #155 and a Certificate of Recognition from <br />Post #155 will be forwarded to Army Medic Specialist Peck. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Appeal — Ashley Furniture Industries <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider an appeal of the planning commission's approval <br />of File Index Number DAP -000-449, Ashley Furniture Industries, regarding design review, <br />conditional use permit and major variance for a proposed 63,796 S.F. retail sales, storage and <br />restaurant building with a freeway oriented sign and a reduction in the parking stall and setback <br />requirements on property located at 855 Ashley Way, Colton, Ca. <br />2005 AUGUST 16 REG CC/RDA/CUA MEETING -3- <br />
