CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />Presentation Nathan Lunt, Administrative Analyst, introduced the City of Colton Business <br />Spotlight Recipient Jerico LLC, located in District 4, Mayor Bennett <br />presented a certificate of appreciation to Tim Scott, General Manager for <br />their contribution for enhancing the economy of the City of Colton. <br />Presentation Cancer Awareness Presentation by McKinley School by Principal Yolanda <br />Cabrera, shared a story of Margaret Slider a past teacher at McKinley <br />School who passed away due to cancer and journeyed with Ms. Slider and <br />the legend of a thousand cranes — participation of the students at McKinley <br />in completing a thousand cranes and is now at 2,000 — some of the students <br />shared a story behind their reasons for participating in the project and <br />presented a crane to each of the members on the dais. <br />Presentation Presentation by Police Department Chief Rulon introduced the new police <br />officers patch for the City of Colton. Sergeant Owens presented a framed <br />model for the members on the dais. <br />Presentation Presentation by Police Chief Kenneth Rulon informed Council the assistance <br />Detective Morenberg provided in working with the San Bernardino County <br />Crime Lab in solving an outstand criminal act. Craig Ogino, Director of the <br />San Bernardino County Crime Lab shared the process involved in ultimately <br />solving the crime; Mayor Bennett and CM Suchil presented a Proclamation <br />to Detective Morenberg on behalf of the Council. <br />Proclamation Mayor Bennett read and presented a proclamation for "Public Power Week" <br />to Utilities Manager, Jeannette Olko. <br />ORDINANCE: <br />First Reading <br />Waive Full Reading and Pass First Reading on an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of <br />Colton Amending Chapters 3.08, 13.04, 13.16, 15.36 and 18.58 of the Colton Municipal Code <br />Relating to Responsibilities of the City Engineer to Review and Approve Plans, ORDINANCE NO. <br />0-16-05. <br />City Manager Parrish briefly stated the intent of the ordinance and that the change is ministerial. <br />Motion/second by CM Hernandez/Suchil to waive full reading and pass second reading of <br />Ordinance No. 0-16-05.
