CITY OF COLTON <br />COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />JANUARY 22, 2005 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, a Special Meeting was held on the above given date <br />at 9:00 a.m., at the Ashley Furniture Conference Room, located at 1601 Ashley Way, Colton, California, <br />with Mayor Bennett presiding. <br />CITY COUNCIL ROLL CALL <br />Councilmembers present were, Suchil, Mitchell, Ramos, Hernandez and Mayor Bennett. <br />Councilmembers De La Rosa and Chastain arrived at 9:30 a.m. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />None <br />The City Council discussed the following items: <br />o Follow-up City Council Self Evaluation - no direction given. <br />o Review of Goals and Value Statement <br />The consensus of the Council was to leave the goals of beautification and improved customer <br />service intact and to add two additional goals: <br />Goal #3 — Economia Advancement "Build the Community" — Work to facilitate development <br />projects that produce ongoing and stable revenues and create economic and employment <br />opportunities that enhance the quality of life for the community and its residents. <br />Direction was given to staff to form a "task Force" for development comprised of Council <br />Members and staff. And involve the Council in the process of updating the land use and <br />circulation elements for General Planas well as consider amending the scope of services for <br />the General Plan amendment to more actively involve the Council <br />Goal #4 Provide Socially Positive Oriented Programs - Continue to provide and enhance <br />project and programs that are community based, socially oriented and provide direct benefits to <br />the various sectors of our community such as, PAL, Crime free Housing, °Rec on the Road", <br />Senior Programs, and Library/Literacy. <br />o Orientation for Newly Elected Officials — no direction given. <br />o Council New Member Re -Orientation — no direction given. <br />o Brown Act Workshop was conducted by the City Attorney <br />o Structure of Commissions <br />Direction was given to Staff to hold a workshop with the commissioners to discuss specific roles <br />and responsibilities, provide some level of guidance and training on the Brown Act and other <br />relevant matters. <br />2005 JANUARY 22 SPC CC/RDA/CUA MEETING - 1 - <br />
